HER2T Laboratories — The HER2 Twin in Reality
Terms & Agreement

Terms of Use & Research Disclaimer

These terms explain what HER2T is, what it is deliberately not, and the rules for using it. We have written them in plain language because the whole point of this platform is honesty about what it can and cannot do.

Last updated: September 2, 2026

HER2T is not medical advice and is not a medical device.

HER2T is a research and educational platform about the HER2/ERBB2 protein and the published science around it. Nothing on this site is medical, clinical, diagnostic, or treatment advice, and nothing here should be used to make decisions about any person’s health, medication, or care. It is not a substitute for a qualified healthcare professional. If you have a medical question, talk to a licensed clinician.

1. Agreeing to these terms

By accessing or using HER2T (the “platform,” “we,” “us”), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform. If you are using HER2T on behalf of an organization, you confirm you are authorized to accept these terms for that organization.

You must be able to form a binding agreement to use HER2T. The platform is intended for researchers, students, and members of the public with an interest in HER2 science — not for clinical use of any kind.

2. What HER2T is — and is not

What it is: an autonomous research platform that reads public HER2 literature, extracts testable claims, surfaces where papers disagree, proposes hypotheses and open questions, and runs deterministic structural estimates — all as an aid to human researchers.

What it is not: HER2T does not, by itself, produce validated scientific or clinical findings. It flags high-value leads for expert review; it cannot confirm a discovery on its own. Any output described as a hypothesis, estimate, lead, or projection is exactly that — a starting point for human investigation, not an established fact.

Work on the platform is organized into phases — UNDERSTAND (live), SIMULATE (live and expanding), and DISCOVER (planned). The Compute Lab runs real GPU molecular dynamics today; steps that require compute we have not yet connected (for example large-scale molecular docking) are shown as honestly blocked rather than faked.

3. AI-generated content and provenance

Much of what HER2T shows is generated or summarized by automated systems and large language models. Automated reasoning can be incomplete, out of date, or simply wrong. You should not rely on any single output without checking it against the underlying sources.

Every claim, estimate, and result is labeled by a provenance tier (for example inferred, computed, simulated, measured, or expert-reviewed) so you can see how much weight it deserves. Computed results are real deterministic biophysical calculations; structural direction estimates are rule-based estimates of local stability, not measurements of biological function or truth. Please read those labels — they are there for a reason.

4. Data sources and third-party content

HER2T draws on public scientific resources including PubMed / NCBI E-utilities, UniProt, the Protein Data Bank (PDB), and ChEMBL, among others. That content belongs to its respective providers and is subject to their own terms and licenses. We link out only to legitimate public sources such as PubMed.

We are grateful to these public databases, but we do not control them and cannot guarantee their accuracy, availability, or completeness. Where the platform references a paper or structure, you should consult the original source before relying on it.

5. Cost figures are estimates

Where the platform reports cost or usage information, it is provided for transparency and planning. Token counts are measured from real runs, but any dollar and credit figures are estimates based on a stated rate and can change. They are not quotes, invoices, or guarantees of price, and forward projections for future phases are planning estimates only.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use HER2T to:

  • make clinical, diagnostic, or treatment decisions for any person;
  • present platform output as validated fact without independent verification;
  • attempt to access, disrupt, overload, or reverse-engineer the platform or its infrastructure;
  • scrape or bulk-extract content in a way that violates a data provider’s terms;
  • submit content you do not have the right to submit, or that is unlawful or misleading;
  • misrepresent the platform’s capabilities to others.

7. Accounts and contributions

Some features require an account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity under your account. Scientific contributions are attributed — the platform does not accept anonymous scientific contributions, and contributed claims are subject to the same verification and provenance rules as everything else.

If you submit content, you grant us a non-exclusive license to store, process, display, and use it for operating and improving the platform. You keep whatever rights you already hold in your own content.

8. Voluntary support and donations

HER2T may offer a way to support the research financially (for example through a linked fundraising page). Any contribution is voluntary and helps fund continued development. A donation is not a purchase, investment, subscription, or fee. It grants no ownership, equity, financial return, service-level guarantee, or entitlement to any specific outcome, feature, or result. Donations are processed by third-party platforms under their own terms, and any refund is governed by those platforms’ policies, not by us.

9. Intellectual property

The platform’s original software, design, text, and structure are owned by the operator of HER2T and protected by applicable law. Underlying scientific data belongs to its original providers. You may view and reference platform content for personal, educational, and research purposes with appropriate attribution, but you may not copy the platform’s software or present its content as your own.

10. No warranty — provided “as is”

HER2T is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any output is accurate, complete, or reliable. Scientific content in particular is provisional and evolving by design.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator of HER2T and its contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your use of — or reliance on — the platform or its output. Because the platform is a free research aid whose outputs are explicitly provisional, you use it at your own discretion and risk.

12. Changes to the platform and these terms

HER2T is under active development, so features, data, and these terms may change over time. When we make material changes to these terms, we will update the “Last updated” date above. Continuing to use the platform after a change means you accept the updated terms.

13. Contact

Questions about these terms or the platform can be sent to [email protected].

A note on these terms: they are written to describe honestly how HER2T works and to set fair expectations. They are not legal advice. If you operate or rely on this platform in a formal setting, consider having a qualified attorney review and tailor them to your jurisdiction.
