Model Evolution
Agents propose structural MUTATIONS to a representation — adding or removing state variables, changing resolution, combining representations, or a new architecture entirely — not just parameter tweaks. Descendants get a fresh identity and full lineage.
The held-out law protects evolution from curve-fitting
The evolution agent is shown only the parent's visible (non-held-out) outcomes. Held-out results never influence how a model is changed — they are reserved to judge whether the change actually predicted reality better.
